Using natural deodorant for the first time? Most underarms go through a detox phase while your pores clear themselves of years of toxic chemicals. Don't be discouraged! It takes a few weeks for your body to adjust.

Original Recipe Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Arrowroot Powder, Beeswax, Magnesium Hydroxide, Baking Soda, Cocoa Butter and Essential Oil(s) or Natural Fragrance Oil(s).

Charcoal Recipe Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Arrowroot Powder, Beeswax, Magnesium Hydroxide, Cocoa Butter, Activated Charcoal and Essential Oil(s) or Natural Fragrance Oil(s).

Using natural deodorant for the first time after years of pore-clogging antiperspirants can take a few weeks for your body to adjust. Your body may need to go through a detox phase which can present itself as a rash on your underarms. There are some steps you can take to help ease your way through the process.
 
1. Use a detoxing mask on your underarms before bed. Something like our Bamboo Charcoal Mud Mask is a great choice to help clear up your pores.
2. Wash your underarms with a detoxifying soap.
3. If the above steps seem overwhelming, another option is to simply not wear deodorant for a few weeks. This is something we typically suggest you do during the winter months right after the holidays when you are less stresses and don't sweat as much.

Tips for applying our Natural DeodorantApplying natural deodorant is quite different from commercial deodorants. 
 
While you may be used to vigorously applying your deodorant on your way out the door, natural deodorant needs a different approach. You should hold the tub under your arm for a few seconds to slightly warm the top. Then all you need is a few swipes. A little goes a long way! Either way a few minutes for the deodorant to soak in before dressing or use your hand to fully rub the product in.
