Mullein, Lavender, Sage Smudge is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, helps to relax, assists with respiratory and lung issues. An essential item in your herbal arsenal during cold and flu season.
Many use Sage Smudges to clear negative energy. It was used by many Native Americans for spirtual rituals.
I personally love smudging sage for it's anti-microbial properties. Studies have shown that burning sage for an hour can clear 90% of most airborne bacteria and viruses. I can tell you, I can't burn it that long. After a few minutes with a burning smudge stick, my house smells like a Grateful Dead concert. Can't imagine what it would smell like after an hour. I do know that if I smudge the house, everyone is starting to feel better quickly and we seem to be able to keep sickness at bay.

Directions: Light one end of the smudge stick and then immediately blow out so the embers are glowing. Walk through every room of your home, keeping ceramic bowl/plate or other incense bowl under the smudge stick to catch any falling embers, waft smoke into each room. When done, extinguish your sage by rubbing it in dirt or sand, on concrete, or stamping it out in a ceramic bowl. (Whatever you do, just don’t put sticks out in water—you won’t be able to use them again.) Make sure all embers are out and then store for future use.
