Personal Wellness

We live in an increasingly complex society. “You can do it all” but “You don’t have to do it all”. “It’s important to take care of those around you” but “It’s not your job to make everyone happy”. Is there a middle ground? The answer is a resounding yes!!
We need to take care of ourselves first and foremost. We need to make sure that we are getting enough sleep, taking time to decompress mentally and physically (if you get a little time to take a nap, TAKE IT!). Eat the right foods, drink plenty of water. Move your body! Moving is so critically important but often overlooked. Take a 30 minute walk everyday if you do not go to a gym.
Take Care of Yourself - Say No!
It’s imperative that we take care of ourselves mentally and spiritually by spending time in meditation, in prayer, in nature. And learning when to say no. Yes, we want to help others, volunteer at school or head a committee. But in moderation. No is not an evil word, it’s a necessity for our own peace of mind and sanity.
Our lives can become so overwhelmingly busy very quickly and this leads to stress in our own lives and in the lives of those we love. My sister and I used to joke that we were going to ask our dad to build us backbones to help us say NO. As I’ve gotten older saying NO has gotten just a little easier and I make very definitive choices as to where and when my time is spent. Because of the job I have been blessed with, I HAVE to make sure I’m taking care of myself because if I don’t, I can’t help my family, my loved ones or the people coming into our wellness shop.
When you help yourself, just as when you love yourself, you can help those around you much easier.

Together, let’s take this Holiday Season one day at a time. Let’s focus on our personal well being so we are healthy and strong enough to give of ourselves to the ones we love. And know that we will be here for you on this journey. Be it for immune support teas, incense to calm your mind, crystals to keep in your pocket, coming in to talk or just have a cup of coffee/tea and relax in our Healing Corner. Our doors (and our online store) are always open to you and we want you to know that your wellness journey is just as important as our own.
Take care and Be Well, Blessed Ones.
