Elderberry Syrup - The "Cold" Healer
It’s that time of year. The beginning of new seasonal allergies, the flu, common colds, and hopefully not Covid. It is really important for us to keep our innate immune systems healthy.

We need to make sure we are eating a natural diet (fresh fruits, veggies, etc.), getting plenty of sleep, and drinking plenty of water. We should also be taking the daily recommended amounts of Vitamin C and Vitamin D. Now is not the time to overwhelm your body with excessive amounts of supplements because you want your immune system to naturally, gently strengthen itself and work the way it’s supposed to.
Elderberry is a great way to encourage our immune system to be at it’s best. Elderberry is rich in Vitamin C and A, anti-inflammatory, and an excellent source of antioxidants.
Elderberry is most commonly taken as a syrup, tincture supplement, or tea. Although it is considered to be an herb that is well tolerated by most, there are some precautions.
Autoimmune Issues Or Progressive Disease (i.e. Lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, MS, etc.) As elderberry can stimulate the immune system, people with these issues should avoid taking elderberry as it can over stimulate an immune system that is already working overtime. This could potentially cause flare ups.
Diabetes - Elderberry has the potential to lower blood sugar levels. People who are hypoglycemic should speak to their physicians before adding elderberry to their diet.
People who are taking immunosuppressant medications should avoid elderberry products. And as always, we encourage those who are pregnant and nursing to check with their physician before adding any herbal supplements to their diets.

We have three amazing teas to encourage a healthy immune system, relaxation and stress relief.
Immune Support (Elderberry, Elderflower and other herbs/spices to encourage a healthy immune system), You Gotta Chai This (A calm, warming chai tea that can start or end your day AND encourage your immune system to be at it's best!) and a Hint of Fall. (A beautifully spicy blend of elderberry, orange and clove. Warming and comforting).
All three products are made with elderberries, elderflowers and other herbs to encourage a healthier immune system, for our bodies to relax and our minds to decompress. We also carry Cassie’s Natural Living Elderberry Syrup online.
